What is love & what is marriage ?

A student ask a teacher, "what is love?"

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the paddy
field and choose the biggest paddy and come back. But the rule is: you can
go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big
padi, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later. Then he saw
another bigger one... but may be there is a even bigger one waiting for
him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the padi field, he start to
realise that the padi is not as big as the previous one he saw, he
know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted !!!! So, he
ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "...this is love... you keep looking for a
better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the
person...."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn
field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can
go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick." The student went
to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous
mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium
corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.

The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.... you look
for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best
one you get.... this is marriage."

Beware… Always Read The Terms and Condition

JumboplayI guess many people fall for BlueHyppo’s Jumboplay that state you will get 2 weeks of free trial upon signing up.

Let me give you an example:

I went to Lowyat and saw a big big logo state “Testing on a Brand New iPod 2 Weeks For Free!!!”. Wow! I couldn’t believe it and I move on to the next step reaching in front of the counter.

A guy dressing like a professional player asking me “Come on, try it just for 2 weeks, it’s free!”. Free!! Everyone loves the word free!! Tell me who don’t like it?

“How’s the deal? What must I do?” I said.

“Just sign-up and we will give you the iPod, just in case you break the iPod, please include your credit card number and your signature on it. That’s all” the guy answered.

Whoa! I couldn’t believe it just 3 steps and I can own an iPod for 2 weeks! So, I keyed in my particulars and I set go with a new iPod.

Well, when I reached home, I set up everything and I plan up the schedule for using it for approximately 2 weeks and return back to him.

After 2 weeks, I went back to Lowyat, I look for the same guy and I said “It’s my return back time, take it back and I really loved it but I cannot pay for it.”

The guy answered, “My dear friend, didn’t you read the T&C? It stated here that you need to use it for another 6 consecutive months and there will be a surcharge of RM24.99 each month. If you were to terminate this subscription, there will be a penalty of 6 months. You need to return back the iPod in ‘good condition’ after you finish your subscription.”

“!@#$%^&*!!!”

And I finally know the real reason why do they need my credit card number and my signature, it’s for the subscription.

Just for a word “free trial” makes me lost another large sum of money. Don’t you think this is a “smart” business? So, why does this type of service made available? Don’t BlueHyppo thinks that this will put the name of BlueHyppo in danger? Becoming a good company should tell “Free Trial and ‘must’ subscribe for 6 months after trial period”.

Note: I am not defaming BlueHyppo nor Jumboplay. And I am not taking any responsibilities on what is stated here.

This is what happening in real life… A person applied Jumboplay in BlueHyppo not noticing the T&C stating that you need to use it for minimum 6 months. Now that person end up in misery. <– Not me.

Take a look at their T&C before applying.

  • Trial periods allow the customer limited use of the Site and Service, for a limited amount of time specified in the registration process.
  • After any Trial period, standard service fees, subscription fee, access fee, and/or other charges such as applicable government taxes, will be applied and your credit card will be automatically billed for such fees and/or charges on a monthly basis, unless service is cancelled.
  • There is a minimum subscription period of 6 months required. The User is free to cancel his/her subscription at any time after that. This is however respecting the constraints in section 12
  • Free Button
Now do you think you want to test out the BlueHyppo’s Jumboplay “Try it now for FREE”?

My own advice, we Malaysians never read the T&C and just click agree. Always read the T&C and check out the ‘hidden charges’ that may apply. Never agree blindly on the Terms and Conditions.

    [创作诗集之2]你

    昨天晚上
    我梦见了你
    为什么?
    很深的道理!

    也许是我太想你,
    也或许是太久没见你;
    也许是没听见你的声音,
    也或许是我还爱着你?

    单恋?
    暗恋?
    想念?
    很深的道理!

    对自己说:
    只是一场梦,
    不是真实的!
    暗恋过,
    但还没说,
    你已走!

    知道自己,
    不敢说
    不可说
    也不会说

    爱?
    哎!
    很深的道理!

    不求什么
    只求
    一天能遇见你,
    在现实里,
    或在梦里

    再求,
    爱,能变得更简单!

    p/s: To:那我梦见的你

105 Top Students In 2006 SPM

PUTRAJAYA, March 13 (Bernama) -- A total of 4,311 or 1.2 per cent of students from government schools scored A in all subjects they sat for in last year's Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

Director-general of Education, Datuk Dr Ahamad Sipon, said the percentage was the same as the previous year's although 4,779 students had straight As.

"As for scoring A1 in all subjects, the increase was 0.1 per cent involving 918 (0.3 per cent) out of the 4,311 top students, compared with 945 (0.2 per cent) out of 4,779 students in 2005," he said when presenting the analysis of the 2006 SPM/Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia results at the Education Ministry, here today.

He said out of the figure, 105 students including five special students were listed as excellent performers. The other 100 had scored A1 in all their subjects.

Three of the five special students are Mohd Faiz Shuhaimi (deaf) of SMK Tun Habab, Kota Tinggi, Johor; Muhammad Raizan Ab Rahman (paralysed) of SMK Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor; and Syarnissa Ahmad Dahuri (visually impaired) of SMK Hill Crest, Gombak, Selangor. They had scored 7As.

On another student, Nadiah Amirah Jamil of SMK Tun Sardon, Batu Pahat, Johor, he said she was not considered among the top although she was earlier reported to have scored 19 As.

"Our evaluation is based on getting A1 in all the subjects they sat for. But Nadiah did not get A in all her subjects, so she was not listed.

Ahamad said overall, the students' achievements which were measured by their competence in seven main subjects, was satisfactory.

The subjects are Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Islamic Study and Moral Education.

The number of students with A1-A2 was 16.6 per cent, B3-C6 at 36.1 per cent and D7-E8 passes at 26 per cent, while 21.1 per cent failed in their subjects.

Ahamad said 319,670 or 90 per cent of the candidates would get the SPM certificate if they got at least E8 in the Bahasa Melayu subject.

Of the figure, 22.8 obtained excellent grades (A1-A2), 44 per cent with credits (B3-C6) and 23.2 per cent with passes (D7-E8). Ten per cent or 35,329 candidates failed or had G9.

    Make YOUR PC Faster!

After Months you had used your computer, definitely you will feel that your pc works slower and slower.

Here are some steps that you can take to make your PC FASTER!

    1. First, run a scandisk or checkdisk. Let Windows fix any errors.

    2. Run a disk cleanup utility...this will flush your temporary internet folder, trash can, temp system files, etc.

    3. Delete any garbage files or data...if possible, run a Duplicate File Finder program.

    4. Run Defrag on all partitions (NOTE: run this after you have deleted all trash and excess files!)

    5. Run a registry cleaner utility and delete or get rid of any orphaned entries in that registry.

    6. Check your exisiting swap file for it's size and location (*will explain location later in the post). If you have alot of ram (i.e. 1 gig and over) set this swap file to something small, like 250 mb. The reason is that this will force Windows to load more into memory, resulting in faster performance (note: some games and applications actually require a certain sized swap file so check your applications performance after making a size adjustment for any error messages.)

    7. Under XP, you can tell Windows to use Classic Style on your desktop, - this will remove the neat single click and internet-style desktop but for lower end systems this will improve performance in other areas, such as gaming and multi-tasking.

    8. Run msconfig and under startup and only keep the programs that are essential to load in the tray icon (and hence stay resident in memory). Uncheck anything else non-essential, like an ATI or Nvidia control panel, Quicktime utility, Real Audio, etc.

    9. Upgrade drivers! Check for the latest BIOS, video, motherboard, sound, etc drivers from the manufacturers. Alot of my friends had chipsets on their motherboard that had advanced disk management capabilities or AGP port settings but the drivers weren't loaded for them so they were never being used. A simple upgrade realized a noticeable difference. For instance, they didn't have the latest driver for their AGP port so it was set to 1x, instead of being used at 4x!

    10. (OK, so this won't speed up your PC but it could save you alot of time and trouble later on!) After making all these improvements, make a working backup! I use Ghost, but for XP users you can also use System Restore...

    -FOR ADVANCED USERS-

    1. Take a look under the hood (for IDE owners). How are your IDE devices configured? If you have more than 1 hard drive, put the master hard drive on the primary IDE channel and the secondary hard drive on the secondary IDE channel (most motherboards have two IDE channels).

    2. Place all CDROM drives, DVD readers etc. on the secondary IDE channel (or SCSI bus, etc). This will reduce I/O contention with your master hard drive which should have your OS and apps installed...

    3. Remember when I mentioned the location of the swap file? OK, if you have 2 hard drives and you have one on the primary IDE channel and the other on the secondary IDE channel, move the swap file to a partition ON THE SECOND hard drive (on the secondary IDE channel). This will greatly improve system performance as the PC can write to the swap file while loading and running OS and system commands without I/O contention on the primary IDE channel!

    4. Take a look under the hood (for SCSI owners) What kind of SCSI do you have? If it's the newer Ultra 160/320 etc cards then guess what? Any devices placed on the same bus will automatically default to the slowest drive on the chain...this means that if you have say, an Ultra 160 SCSI card, and it has an Ultra 160 drive (capable of transferring 160 mb/sec) on the same chain as a SCSI cdrom drive (capable of only 40 mb/sec) then the whole bus slows down to the 40 mb/sec speed...use different chains for the slower devices and maximize those hard drives!

    5. Run a utility like WCPUID and check the settings...is your CPU/front speed bus/AGP port running as fast as they should be? If not, check your drivers and BIOS configuration options. Also, are all of your chipset features enabled? If not, then enable them! (usually done in your BIOS!)

    6. Dig in to the BIOS...check settings like boot order, for example...is it checking the floppy first? Change this! Select your order to reflect the hard drive first, then CD, then floppy for a noticeable boot time improvement. Also disable any non-used on board peripherals...for instance, - does your motherboard come with an on-board NIC card? Guess what, if you don't use that NIC card and it is enabled it will eat up valuable CPU cycles and can be detrimental to your systems' performance. DISABLE THAT MUTHA! Also, see if you can play with memory timing and CPU clock frequencies (NOTE! This is for expert users only!) Set these timings to "Aggressive" and see what happens in your games and apps...Also, check to see what your video aperature is set to. If you have a video card with 128 megs of on-baord memory, your aperature should be set to this amount too. Read the BIOS owner manual for further non-general performance tricks or improvements! Do you have the latest BIOS firmware version?

    7. Under hardware properties, check to see that everything is working properly, and fix any hardware contention issues. You'll see the dreaded yellow exclamation point (!) beside any hardware componenet that is not working correctly.

    8. Evaluate the potential for system/hardware upgrades...usually, the best bang for the buck is adding memory so buy all that you can afford (don't go much above 512 megs for Win 98 or ME). If you have a motherboard with an 8x - capable AGP port but you are using an older 4x video card, consider upgrading to an 8x card. You get the idea here...

    9. Quit using software pigs like Norton system utilities, etc. These place files everywhere and can be a real system resource hog on lower end PCs.

    10. Did I mention to make a good backup? Do it now! Also, while you're at it, run a good virus program with the latest definitions.

There are more options to make your system faster, such as overclocking, etc. but (just about) everything I've mentioned in this tech post costs you nothing and will result in faster system performance! Good luck and if you have any questions on how to do anything mentioned here, ask a knowledgeable friend or consult a book, - don't mess up something trying to do something you are not sure of!

    DVD Regions Information

    DVD Regions Information

The DVD region code identifies a DVD's compatibility with the players typically sold in a particular region.

The following graphic shows the approximate location of each region.

    Image

Region 0 (or "region free") is compatible with DVD players from any region.

The majority of all current titles play only in one specific region unless otherwise noted. DVDs sold by Amazon.co.uk are encoded for Region 2 or Region 0. Region 2 DVDs may not work on DVD players in other countries.

Region 1 DVDs sold by Marketplace sellers

Region 1 discs are intended for use with standard DVD players in North America (Canada and the USA). In most instances they can also be played on compatible "multi-region" DVD players (also known as "chipped" or "region-free" players).

They also require an NTSC-compatible television. NTSC is the standard picture format in North America, and differs from the PAL format adopted in Britain and Europe. Region 1 DVDs are usually presented in NTSC format, so you should ensure that your TV is capable of reading the NTSC signal before purchasing Region 1 DVDs.

    Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE)

Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE) has been added by some film studios (specifically Warner and Columbia) to selected Region 1 DVDs, with the intention of preventing these discs from playing on some multi-region DVD players. We are therefore unable to guarantee that all Region 1 discs will be compatible with all multi-region players.
