Here i write this for all those who want to know more about searching the internet!

I would recommend you all to use
Google, as it is the search engine with LARGEST database then other search engine company. And im using it since 6 years ago and Google never disappoint me!
And of cause the
iGoogle function also make me happy everyday!
So, the tips and trick below is useful for google search page, not very sure the same trick can apply on other search engine or not!
Search something accurately, like you want to search for
hand foot and mouth disease , im sure you do not want pages with only a word
foot,
mouth,
hand that totally not relevant appear in front of you rite! So, use the sign quote
" " to help you! Like: typing
"hand foot and mouth disease" in the search bar will make sure sites with the specific phrase shown on the result page.
Eliminate keywords that you dont want to see or irrelevant. This can be done by adding a minus sign - before the word you dont want to see. Like if you search for
megaupload download, i will appear with sites that teach you how to bypass the megauplaod limit, that you wont want to see. So you can do so by entering
megaupload download -bypass and again you wont get pages with the word
bypass in your result.
Read a site that is dead or offline. Most of the time, you will find that the page you want to reach is temporary offline or cannot be viewed. If the page contain something you want to read, you can do so by viewing the chached page done by google. Click on the
Cached link below of every result, and it will bring that to what google had capture on the website before it went down. But keep in mind that Google's Crawler will crawl for website update frequently, site that closed for too long will be not available in the search result as Google might be already removed it.
Read fast ,find much. Sometimes when you search for something, dont just read the first page or first few page of the search result. Skim through as many page as possible and you MIGHT get something you want at the end of the search result. Sometimes i would read until the 100th page of the result to get something i want!
Search a specific site. You can do so by adding
site: followed by the url you want to search. Example will be
SPM Tips site:edu2.joshuatly.com and you will only get results from my blog.
Search a spesific type of file. Sometimes you may want to search for a document, .doc file, pdf files, powerpoint? You can get it via google! Just add filetype:ppt after your keyword. Like
MUET in pdf file.
Translate whole webpage. Sometimes you might need some information on some sites who not write in language that you understand, you can use Google to help you to translate the whole page into English or specific language. Use
Translate this page link that available on some page. OR use
Google Language Tools page to help you!
Look for Refine results and Searches related to! Sometimes, there will be refine result that suggest by google in order for you to search more accurately. Use them wisely and this will save your time and effort. Example of results containing
Refine results that appear on the top of the result page and
Searches related to that appear on the bottom of the result page.
Be aware to everything in front of your eye. Sometime Google will really help you much. This can be prove by if you care enough for everything on the page, any link, including sponsor links will help you much! Just like the search the keyword
megaupload , you can click the links of tab on the blue ribbon just below the logo which will bring you to the
web search,
video search,
group search and
blog search! One more example will be if you search for a specific term like
hand foot and mouth disease, you will get to the
definition page directly if you click the button on the blue ribbon and as well as
search the news also!
Playing with Wildcard search. Sometimes wildcard will bring you to some place you never think of. Just enter the wildcard sign * to replace any word! Just like
i * a boy and you will get something fantastic!
More fun on Google-ing . You may get something useful directly without access to any external site from google. Like the Calculator. Type in
100+256 and see what will you get!
Instant currency conversion. Using google you can convert currency immediately, without accessing to other website. Like i want to convert
60 USD to MYD, you will get the result immediately. But the conversion wont be very accurate as the currency flow and not fixed.
